My First Film Roll

My journey into analog photography

Beginning of this year, I received a Kodak FunSaver camera as a gift from my family. It was my first time using a film camera, and I was quite excited to try it out. The camera came pre-loaded with a roll of Kodak Gold 800 film, which is known for its vibrant colors and fine grain.

Due to privacy reasons, I decide to upload only a few photos from the roll. Here are some of my favorite shots:

The first photo was robot running on Paris streets. It was in front of the Hugging Face office in Paris to be exact. Of course, that's not something you can see every day. I had the chance to be there while the Unitree team was visiting our office. The robot in the photo is an Unitree G1, which is surprisingly agile and capable of running at a decent speed.

Below, the photo on the left depicts the famous Eiffel Tower in a sunny day. I took it while making a video to show off PocketPal's new feature, real-time captioning.

The photo on the right was taken by my therapist during one of our sessions. It was quite a surprise to see myself from her perspective.

Moving on, we have some photos from my recent trip to Vietnam.

The left photo was captured on the plane while flying over the clouds. I always find it fascinating to see the world from above. Those clouds looked particularly beautiful that day.

The right photo was taken from my parents' balcony in Hanoi. The photo showcases the busy street right in front of our house. It's a typical scene in Hanoi, with motorbikes and cars bustling around.

The final photo was taken during my visit to Ban Gioc Waterfall, a very beautiful natural attractions in Vietnam. The waterfall is located on the border between Vietnam and China. I got wet while taking this photo, but it was totally worth it.

The film was developed and scanned by a lab in Hanoi. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the results. The colors are vibrant, and the grain adds a nice "retro" feel to the photos. I'm definitely looking forward to exploring more with film photography in the future!
