One Summer's Day

A photo collection of Paris in summer 2024

As I moved to the new office in Paris, I had the chance to explore the city in the summer of 2024. Most people are already on vacation, so the city was less crowded, even with Olympic Games happening in the city. I took my camera with me and captured some moments of Paris in the summer.

I spent most of my time walking around the Châtelet area, where the office is located. These photos are taken during the hotest week of August, so the sunlight was strong and the sky was clear.

The first photo is the rue near the entrance of metro station Châtelet. The second photo is the Saint-Eustache Church, a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture.

I also played around with some settings on my camera. This is the first time I tried taking long exposure photos during the day. The result was quite interesting.

I enjoy the old architecture of Paris, especially the old monuments and buildings. The first photo is The Fontaine des Innocents, a monumental public fountain located near Les Halles built in the 16th century. The second photo is the Porte Saint-Denis, a triumphal arch built in the 17th century.
